Cooking with cannabis isn't new, in fact it has been around for centuries. Before legalization it was relegated to the fringes of the culinary scene... today the options are literally endless when it comes to using marijuana in cooking. The keys to a successful cana-dinner is knowing how the food will react to the cannabis and how you, and your guests, will react to both.
Thats where we come in! The RG's Cannabis Dining Experience is designed to teach you how to safely extract THC, properly dose dishes and enjoy the wonders of marrying beautiful food with a fantastic high.
Working with food has to be a passion... the only way it really works is if you work with people you love and respect. I am incredibly fortunate to have two of those exact people working with me on this project. I am Adam (aka The Roadside Gourmet), I have been involved in the culinary world for more than 3 decades and the RG truly is my passion project.
I am honoured to have my best bud and culinary wingman, Rick, working with me. Rick is an outstanding Chef who understands the ins and outs of cannabis culture better than anyone I know.
The third member of our team is my beautiful and talented partner, Jeanette. Jeanette is our sous chef, host, budtender, cannabis sommelier and guaranteed to be your favourite RG team member!
You and your guests will be welcomed into our home in St.Thomas, Ontario. Our outdoor teaching kitchen and dining areas have been designed to give you an interactive dining and learning experience. We will walk you through our infusion processes, the preparation of each element of the meal and the dosing protocols for each dish.
A typical menu will consist of 4 courses and will have a combination of THC and CBD infusions. By introducing CBD into the meal, we are able to control the effects of the THC... no one wants to eat too much and find themselves uncomfortably high!
Each of our menus are carefully curated by our Chefs to bring you a dining experience that is fresh, adventurous and a little different from what you are used to. We seek out dishes and ingredients that will complement the earthy flavours and undertones of cannabis.
We will work with you on the appropriate dosing of the meal. If you, or your guests, are new to the world of cannabis we will tone the potency down... if you've been tailgating at Grateful Dead concerts for five decades, we will kick things up a notch!
We take food safety very seriously. Equally, we take your guest's safety very seriously. When attending The RG's Cannabis Dining Experience, we want everyone to have a great time and in order to do that we have a few guidelines in place.
Alcohol will not be provided, and consumption is not encouraged. As our bodies digest and metabolize THC each of us react differently, introducing alcohol into the equation adds a variable that can be detrimental to the buzz. Transportation to and from the dinner must be arranged ahead of time. If you have a designated driver, we are happy to prepare the same courses for that amazing person without any cannabis.
If one of your guests gets "too high" we have CBD on hand (which will counter act the THC) and a quiet, comfortable space for them to retreat to if necessary.
If you read the safety and comfort section and thought, "no booze... what are we going to drink... water?!?!" Don't worry, we have you covered! We will have plenty of water on hand and our talented Budtender will have spectacular Cannabis Mocktails designed to complement each dish. We will monitor your THC and CBD intake across every element of the meal, including our mocktails.
